First Dose Vaccinations Increase by 64,344 to Total 2,260,639, Representing 4.3% of the Population
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] On the 24th, the number of COVID-19 vaccine recipients in South Korea was recorded at 64,344. Approximately 4% of the entire population completed their first vaccine dose within 58 days since the vaccination began.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) on the 25th, 64,344 new vaccine doses were administered the previous day. As a result, the total number of people who completed their first dose reached 2,260,639. The vaccination rate compared to the domestic population of 52 million is 4.3%.
Among the cumulative first-dose recipients, 1,311,996 received the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, and 948,643 received the Pfizer vaccine.
An additional 5,769 people received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, bringing the total number of people who completed the second dose to 104,538. The cumulative total of people who received either the first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine is 2,365,177.
