Hyeonchungsa Management Office Commemorates the 476th Anniversary of Yi Sun-sin's Birth
Only Descendants of Yi Chungmugong Invited... Proceeding Without Luncheon or Cultural Events
The Hyeonchungsa Management Office announced on the 23rd that it will hold the '476th Anniversary Ceremony of Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s Birth' at 11 a.m. on the 28th at Hyeonchungsa in Asan, Chungnam. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, only descendants of Admiral Yi Chung-mu-gong will be invited, and the event will proceed without lunch or cultural activities. The initial ritual (Chohunrye) consists of incense offering and libation (raising a cup of alcohol) by the chief ritualist (head of Hyeonchungsa Management Office) and the reading of a ritual prayer by the congratulator. It continues with the secondary ritual (Ahunrye), performed by a representative descendant, and the final ritual (Jonghunrye), followed by a floral tribute and incense offering in the name of the President.
