Honam University Department of Future Automotive Engineering Introduces Electric Vehicle Simulator
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Department of Future Automotive Engineering at Honam University is accelerating the cultivation of talent in the fields of electric vehicles and AI-based autonomous vehicles, which will be key in the 4th Industrial Revolution era, by continuously introducing new practical training equipment.
According to Honam University on the 22nd, the Department of Future Automotive Engineering recently received the latest compact SUV Seltos for practical training materials from Kia Motors Research Center, and on the 20th, introduced electric vehicle simulator equipment.
Along with introducing this equipment, which is made to use actual electric vehicle parts as educational materials, the department invited Yoon Sang-soon, CEO of Sevcon Korea, to provide training on the use of the equipment, including the motor driving principle of electric vehicles and the battery charging and discharging principles, as well as lectures on the electric vehicle market outlook and application fields.
Kim Min-sang (1st year) said, “I usually did not have many opportunities to encounter electric vehicles, but with the introduction of this simulator that allows easy viewing of each part, it seems it will be very helpful for my studies in the department,” expressing his expectations.
