Gyeongju City Opens 'Gyeongbuk Residents Happiness University' Gyeongju Campus
Two Curriculums (3050 Leaders, 60+ Masters) Conducted Once a Week for 30 Weeks
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongju City (Mayor Ju Nak-young) announced on the 22nd that it will operate the 'Gyeongbuk Residents Happiness University Gyeongju Campus' promoted by Gyeongbuk Province.
The Gyeongbuk Residents Happiness University entrance ceremony was held on the 13th at the Dongnak Hall of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office, attended by new students and officials from 19 city and county campuses. The Gyeongju Campus opened with its first class on the 20th at the Lifelong Learning Family Hall.
The Gyeongju Campus recruited 100 new students for two educational programs (3050 Leaders, 60+ Masters). Lectures are held once a week (2 hours) over 30 weeks.
The curriculum consists of seven areas including common courses (regional studies, civic studies, future studies) and specialized courses (humanities, socio-economics, living environment, culture and arts). Students who attend more than 70% of all lectures and participate in over 5 hours of social activities will be awarded an honorary resident bachelor's degree.
