Participated in SOS Relay Challenge on the 20th... Delivering a Message to Address Welfare Blind Spots
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 20th, Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin District, participated in the ‘SOS Relay Challenge’ to raise awareness and empathy for neighbors in welfare blind spots.
This challenge is a relay campaign initiated by the Seoul Metropolitan Council to identify, protect, and support socially vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly from abuse and various forms of violence.
On this day, Mayor Kim Seon-gap conveyed the challenge message, "Look, Find, Inform, Protect," and requested everyone to participate in resolving welfare blind spots.
Having been nominated by Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Mayor Kim then nominated Park Hyun-soo, Chief of Gwangjin Police Station, Lee Jung-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong District, and Park Sung-soo, Mayor of Songpa District, as the next participants in the challenge.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “All residents have the right to be protected from various dangers. I hope residents will always keep an eye on their surroundings and inform us whenever there are neighbors in need,” adding, “We will establish a meticulous welfare system to become a more reliable and safe support for our residents.”
Meanwhile, the district is promoting the ‘Gwangjin-type Plus Care SOS Project,’ the first in Seoul’s autonomous districts to expand the support target, to respond immediately to care gaps.
