In March, the chairman of the resident autonomy committee of Hoewon 1-dong proposed developing the Banwol Mountain area into a tourist resource by utilizing the abandoned mine.
In response, Mayor Heo walked with the residents of Hoewon 1-dong for about an hour and exchanged opinions about Banwol Mountain.
Park Chan-man, chairman of the Hoewon 1-dong resident autonomy committee who accompanied the site visit that day, said, "Banwol Mountain is a place full of many stories, and we ask the city to continue to pay attention to its development as a tourist resource. We sincerely thank the mayor for willingly walking with us."
Mayor Heo stated, "It was a meaningful time to communicate with the residents on site," and added, "We will carefully review the requests and continue to implement a tangible administration that can enhance residents' satisfaction in their daily lives."
