Bucheon City to Host New Deal Policy Talk Show on 22nd... Citizens, Experts, and Mayor to Join Online Together
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will hold an online policy talk show "Bucheon Opens! New Deal Land" for 100 minutes starting at 4 p.m. on the 22nd.
Last year, in line with the government's "Korean New Deal," the city established a comprehensive plan for the "Bucheon-type New Deal," which includes 82 projects in three major areas: digital, green, and social safety net, as part of the regional balanced New Deal policy. Accordingly, this discussion forum was prepared to build policy consensus with citizens.
The talk show will feature Mayor Jang Deokcheon along with Professor Jeong Jaewoong of KAIST (Department of Computer Science, Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Information Security) and Director Lee Hunhee of the Korea Policy Management Institute.
This talk show plans to enhance policy understanding through videos on the Korean New Deal and the Bucheon-type New Deal. It will especially focus on the city's key projects such as growth engines, smart care, and eco-friendly transition projects. There will also be time for communication with citizens participating in the online video conference.
Additionally, a segment will be provided where participating citizens can directly vote for and select preferred policies, and a professional illustrator will present live drawing sketches of the talk content online.
The talk concert is open to any citizens interested in Bucheon's urban future. Applications can be made through the Bucheon City website.

We hope this will be a time to explore ways to better promote New Deal policies with experts and to increase the sense of engagement through communication with citizens."
