Muan-gun Selects 'Successor Agricultural Managers' to Lay Foundation for Future Agriculture Development
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 15th that it had announced the candidates for the Youth Startup Successor Farmer Settlement Support Project and the Successor Agricultural Manager Support Project on the 1st and 12th, respectively.
The Youth Startup Successor Farmer Support Project, which is available to those aged 18 to 40 who have been independently managing farms for less than 3 years (including those planning to manage independently), received 35 applications and finally selected 20 candidates. The Successor Agricultural Manager Support Project, available to those aged 18 to 50 who have no experience or less than 10 years of experience in farming, received 34 applications and finally selected 13 candidates.
The selected candidates for the Youth Startup Successor Farmer and Successor Agricultural Manager projects can receive loan guarantee support benefits of up to 300 million KRW for successor agricultural management funds. Eligible areas for funding include farmland purchase, construction of facilities such as livestock barns, livestock stocking, and purchase of agricultural machinery and cargo trucks.
Additionally, Youth Startup Successor Farmers can receive a farming settlement support fund in the form of vouchers amounting to 800,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW per month for up to 3 years, which can be used for living expenses and other purposes.
Governor Kim San said, “Thank you for your interest and application to this project aimed at promoting the entry of young and talented individuals into the agricultural sector,” and added, “We ask those selected to fulfill their roles as key talents for the future development of agriculture in Muan County.”

Meanwhile, since 2018, Muan County has selected 59 Youth Startup Successor Farmers, and since 1981, 1,205 Successor Agricultural Managers, who have played a central role in Muan agriculture.
