2021 Intangible Cultural Heritage Saturday Regular Performance

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam, will hold the first intangible cultural heritage Saturday regular performance of the year at 2 p.m. on the 17th at the lawn square inside Jinju Fortress.
The intangible cultural heritage Saturday regular performance first started in 2007 and is now in its 14th year. To promote the city's various intangible cultural heritages, it offers visitors various programs including performances, wearing performance costumes experience, musical instrument experience, and craft experience.
This year, it will be held every Saturday from April to July at the lawn square near Gongbukmun Gate inside Jinju Fortress.
Performers include holders and masters of the national intangible cultural heritages Jinju Samcheonpo Nongak, Jinju Geommu, and Gyeongsangnam-do intangible cultural heritages Jinju Pogurakmu, Shingwanyong-ryu Gayageum Sanjo, Jinju Ogwangdae, and Jinju Gyobang Gutgeori Dance.
Additionally, craft demonstration events by holders of Gyeongsangnam-do intangible cultural heritages such as Jangdojang and Duseokjang will also be held.

A city official stated, “This year’s performances will comply with quarantine rules to prevent COVID-19 and provide various programs to visitors,” adding, “We will strive to make the Saturday regular performances beloved by diversifying performance venues and content in the future.”
