[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] A domestic pharmaceutical company will begin contract manufacturing of overseas COVID-19 vaccines starting in August.
Baek Young-ha, head of the government-wide Vaccine Introduction Task Force (TF) Vaccine Introduction General Team, stated at the COVID-19 vaccine briefing on the 15th, "A domestic pharmaceutical company is in the process of finalizing a specific contract for the production of vaccines approved overseas," adding, "From August, the vaccine will be mass-produced domestically." However, regarding which pharmaceutical company will produce which type of vaccine, he said, "Since it is a contractual matter, it is difficult to provide detailed information."
