[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Cheolju) announced on the 14th that on the 13th, department heads, team leaders, and representatives of Damyang Village Schools gathered in the main conference room to hold a Village School Operation Council.
Before the Village School Operation Council, Mr. Lee Hyungmin, a teacher dispatched by the Provincial Office of Education, presented the operation case of the Suncheon Grassroots Education Autonomy Support Center and gave a presentation on the direction the village schools should take.
At the council, village school representatives discussed topics including the start of village school stories in March, the operation of seed clubs, ways to link village education with school curricula, and plans to revitalize the village education community.
The representative of Sonagi Village School said, “It is so popular that all students of Damyang Geumseong Middle School, a small school, participate in the village school. Geumseong Elementary School lends musical instruments, so the village school students decided to hold an orchestra concert once a month at a nursing home.” He added that the school is actively cooperating with the village school and expressed happiness seeing our children growing up within the village.
