Google Korea Reports Domestic Sales of 220 Billion KRW Last Year... First Earnings Disclosure
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Google Korea recorded sales of 220.1 billion KRW in South Korea last year.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure on the 14th, Google Korea posted sales of 220.1 billion KRW last year, an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous year. Operating profit during the same period rose 52.9% to 15.6 billion KRW, and net profit surged 741.2% to 6.2 billion KRW.
This is the first time Google has disclosed its business performance in Korea. This is due to the newly implemented Act on External Audit of Stock Companies and Others (New External Audit Act) after a full revision. Under the New External Audit Act, from this year, limited liability companies must also disclose audit reports that have undergone external audits.

Google Cloud Korea, which operates the cloud business, recorded sales of 58.3 billion KRW, up 128.1% year-on-year. Operating profit increased 1422.2% to 2 billion KRW. Google Payment Korea, related to payment services, posted sales of 86.6 billion KRW, up 39.1%, and operating profit rose 48.5% to 6.2 billion KRW.
