"Spring in Myanmar..." Continuous Donations from Various Sectors in Gwangju Seo-gu Area
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Various sectors in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, are continuously providing support to help the people of Myanmar who are fighting for democracy against the military coup.
According to Seo-gu on the 12th, recently, each of the 18 neighborhoods has donated 518,000 KRW.
Members of each neighborhood's grassroots organizations all participated in the support, gathering funds with one heart for Myanmar's democratization.
Along with this, donations have continued from Seo-gu Office employees, Seo-gu Council, Seogwanghoe, and the Seo-gu Village Network ‘Irak’.
Additionally, Seo-gu and the Seo-gu Council recently held a photo exhibition of Myanmar, hoping for the swift arrival of democracy there, and raised funds to support the democratization movement.
The total donations for Myanmar have reached 26,334,000 KRW so far, which were delivered respectively to the local Myanmar democratization movement organizations, the Gwangju Asia Women’s Network (a non-profit organization) and the 5·18 Memorial Foundation (a foundation).
