Jindo-gun Provides Disaster Relief Funds for Agriculture Sector to Overcome COVID-19
'Agricultural Disaster Relief Fund of 300,000 to 1,000,000 KRW per Farm Household... Applications Open Until End of April'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, will provide disaster relief funds in the form of vouchers ranging from 300,000 to 1,000,000 KRW to farms struggling with agricultural operations due to COVID-19 damage.
According to Jindo-gun on the 12th, there are two types of voucher support for farms: the temporary management support voucher for small-scale farms vulnerable to COVID-19 damage (hereinafter referred to as the Small Farm Voucher) and the COVID-19 Overcome Farming Support Voucher (hereinafter referred to as the Farming Voucher) for farms facing difficulties in agricultural management such as decreased sales due to quarantine measures.
The 'Small Farm Voucher' can be applied for either by visiting the local agricultural and livestock cooperatives or NongHyup Bank branches in the farmland area directly or online through the NongHyup card website until the 30th of this month.
The recipients are 2,349 farms that received the small farm direct payment in 2020, and they will be given vouchers worth approximately 300,000 KRW.
The 'Farming Voucher' application and reception will be conducted at the town and township offices from the 14th until April 30th. After screening, prepaid cards worth about 1,000,000 KRW are scheduled to be distributed starting from the 14th of next month.
The support targets include eco-friendly agricultural products supplied to school meals and rural experience and recreation villages that have suffered damage due to restrictions on school attendance and dining business operations caused by COVID-19 quarantine measures.
The county is intensively promoting the disaster relief fund payment to eligible recipients in the agricultural sector through village broadcasts, banner postings, electronic display boards, and the Jindo-gun official website.
