Police Investigate Large-Scale Illegal Filming Video Distribution Case... Over 100 Victims
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Police, having detected the online distribution of illegal filming (hidden camera) videos involving over 100 victims, have launched an investigation into the sellers and buyers of these videos.
According to the police on the 8th, the Cyber Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has been tracking participants in a Telegram chatroom created for selling illegal filming sexual intercourse videos since the end of last year. It is reported that these participants bought and sold related videos and even disclosed personal information of more than 100 female victims, including their names, addresses, phone numbers, and alma maters.
The individual identified as A, who illegally filmed the videos, is known to have taken his own life after the police investigation began last year. Before his death, A distributed the illegally filmed videos on the dark web and other platforms, and the police have determined that other individuals who downloaded these videos created a sales network.
