Ewha Womans University, Myongji College, Seoul Women's Nursing College, Yonsei University Recruit Campus Town Startup Teams... Provide Startup Activity Funds, Awards, Startup Spaces, Mentoring, and Networking Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is recruiting startup teams from four universities in the area that are promoting the Seoul Campus Town project to spread startup culture and support youth.
Ewha Womans University is accepting applications until the 11th and will select six ‘early-stage startup teams’ and ten ‘pre-startup teams’ in the Style-Tech field, providing each team with startup activity funds of 10 million KRW (early-stage startup) and 1.5 million KRW (pre-startup). Six teams will also receive prize money.
Additionally, various programs such as startup education, mentoring, and networking will be offered, and three outstanding ‘early-stage startup teams’ will be supported with independent office spaces.
Style-Tech refers to a new industry that combines advanced information technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality with lifestyle fields like fashion and beauty.
Myeongji College is recruiting startup teams related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution until the 18th of this month, selecting 17 teams and providing up to 3 million KRW in startup activity funds.
They will also be allowed to move into startup support facilities.
Seoul Women’s College of Nursing is conducting a startup competition to discover and nurture startup teams in the healthcare service field. Applications are open until May 21, and five teams will be selected to receive startup prize money ranging from 2 million KRW to 5 million KRW per team.
Space for startups, mentoring, and startup activity funds will also be provided.
Yonsei University will recruit startup teams within three years of establishment by the end of this month, selecting 55 teams. Support includes residency in the Campus Town startup space ‘S-Cube’ and startup activity funds to help realize ideas and achieve successful startups.
Since each university has different eligibility criteria, recruitment periods, and support scales for startup teams, applicants should check individual announcements on the ‘Seoul Campus Town’ website.
This Campus Town project is promoted with the goal of creating a regional community where youth, residents, and universities coexist through cooperation between universities and the local area.
