Nongshim's 'Baehongdong Bibimmyun' Sells 7 Million Units in 4 Weeks After Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nongshim announced on the 8th that 'Bae Hong Dong Bibimmyun' surpassed 7 million units sold within 4 weeks (March 11 to April 7) of its launch.
Since the launch of Bae Hong Dong Bibimmyun on the 11th of last month, Nongshim has doubled the supply compared to the initial launch period due to overwhelming additional supply requests from large supermarkets and other retailers.
Nongshim attributed the popularity of Bae Hong Dong Bibimmyun to its bibim sauce. A Nongshim representative said, "The spicy and tangy bibim sauce, which differentiates it from existing bibimmyun, seems to be capturing consumers' taste buds," adding, "As demand for bibimmyun is expected to grow further this year, we will actively engage in sales and marketing activities to take the lead in the bibimmyun market."
