Hannam University Selected for Digital Core Practical Talent Development Project...The Only One in Daejeon and Chungcheong Region
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University has been finally selected for the '2021 Digital Core Practical Talent Training (K-Digital Training) Project' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
According to the university on the 8th, the Digital Core Practical Talent Training Project is a government initiative as part of the 'Korean New Deal,' aimed at providing digital training courses at various levels within the labor market and offering field-oriented education to support young people in growing into core talents in the digital sector.
Hannam University was the only institution in the Daejeon and Chungcheong region selected as a digital core practical talent training institution. In principle, the government selects and operates one digital core practical talent training institution per nationwide region.
As a result of the selection, Hannam University will receive a total of 600 million KRW over three years from the government to train about 20 'Industry Project-Based Convergent Big Data Analysis Experts.' It will also take on the role of linking and supporting the employment of trained personnel to partner companies.
Applicants with majors related to big data and IT are given preference, and all expenses necessary for education such as textbook fees, tuition, and field training are supported along with monthly training incentives. At the same time, the structure ensures that those who complete the education can be employed by participating companies in the project.

Professor Shin Yoon-sik of Hannam University's Department of Global IT Management (Project Director) said, "Through this project, Hannam University expects to cultivate machine learning and big data analysis experts at the NCS Level 5 standard." He added, "In particular, we will strive to create synergy by linking with the '2021 Hannam Future Project Big Data-Based Digital Marketer Training Project,' which has been conducted by the Departments of Global IT Management, Trade, and Business Administration."
