Gyeonggi Office of Education Saves 15.8 Billion KRW in Budget Last Year Through Contract Review
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has saved 15.8 billion KRW last year through the operation of the contract review system.
The contract review system is a system that reviews whether the budgets for construction, services, goods purchases, and design ordered by educational institutions in the province have been efficiently managed. Gyeonggi Office of Education was the first educational administrative institution to introduce this system in 2012.
The subjects of contract review are projects ordered by schools and kindergartens at all levels except private institutions, education support offices, departments under the provincial office of education, and affiliated agencies.
The review contents include ▲transaction reference prices ▲design document errors ▲compliance with relevant laws and regulations ▲rational application of design methods, etc.
Through the contract review system, Gyeonggi Office of Education saved 15.8 billion KRW out of a total reviewed amount of 1.0382 trillion KRW last year. The number of reviews was 1,681 cases, including 626 construction cases, 338 service cases, and 717 goods cases.
In particular, Gyeonggi Office of Education saved 1.6 billion KRW by applying the revised standard unit prices for information and communication construction. The standard unit price is the basis for determining construction costs. Previously, Gyeonggi Office of Education applied general construction standards, but last year it applied construction standards suitable for school sites.
Shin Chang-seung, Director of Financial Planning at Gyeonggi Office of Education, emphasized, "The revised standard unit prices requested by Gyeonggi Office of Education will greatly contribute to budget savings in educational administrative institutions nationwide," adding, "We will continue to realize field-centered educational administration through continuous system improvements and efficient operational management."
