[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The police have launched an internal investigation into a high school sophomore student who made a supportive speech at the campaign event of Park Young-sun, the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate for Seoul mayor.
According to the police on the 6th, the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul received a report that student A and a member of Park's campaign team would be accused of violating the Public Official Election Act, and have started an internal investigation.
On the 1st, A went up on stage at Park's campaign event held in front of Emart Mokdong branch in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, introduced himself as born in 2004, and said he came to support Park Young-sun.
According to Article 60 of the Public Official Election Act, minors under the age of 18 are not allowed to engage in election campaigning.
