Infection Routes Intertwined with Restaurants and Coin Karaoke Rooms

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to a daycare center and a chicken restaurant in Incheon has increased to 56.

On the 6th, Incheon City announced that 16 additional people tested positive for COVID-19 in connection with the cluster infections at a daycare center and multi-use facilities in Yeonsu-gu.

Among the 16 new confirmed cases related to the cluster infection, 14 were linked to the daycare center, and the remaining 2 were classified as infections related to a coin karaoke room. Of the confirmed cases related to the daycare center, 3 were children enrolled there, and the other 11 were contacts such as family members and acquaintances of the confirmed teachers and children.

With the occurrence of additional infections, the cumulative number of confirmed cases related to this cluster infection has increased to 56, including the 40 cases counted until the previous day.

Another 14 cases were classified as infections related to the chicken restaurant, and 9 cases were linked to the coin karaoke room.

The coin karaoke room in Yeonsu-gu was visited by confirmed cases related to the chicken restaurant where the cluster infection occurred, and visitors there have consecutively tested positive.

On this day, a total of 51 new confirmed cases were reported in Incheon, including the 16 related to the cluster infection.

The number of new confirmed cases by region is 19 in Yeonsu-gu, 11 in Bupyeong-gu, 7 in Michuhol-gu, 6 in Seo-gu, 5 in Namdong-gu, 2 in Gyeyang-gu, and 1 in Jung-gu.

As of the afternoon of the previous day, 6 out of 51 beds dedicated to severe patients and 80 out of 782 beds dedicated to infectious diseases were in use in Incheon.

In Incheon, as of the previous day, 57,272 people, including workers at nursing hospitals or medical institutions and elderly people aged 75 or older, have received COVID-19 vaccinations.
