Jeju Local Government Employee Recruitment Exam Sees 3,359 Applicants... Average Competition Ratio 19 to 1
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Park Chang-won] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 6th that a total of 3,359 applicants applied after the application period for the 3rd local government public official (grades 8 and 9) open competitive recruitment exam closed.
The application period was from the 29th of last month to the 2nd of this month.
The 3rd local government public official recruitment exam is for 175 positions in 15 job categories for grades 8 and 9, with an average competition rate of 19 to 1.
The job category with the highest competition rate was the Taxation Grade 9 category, where 79 applicants competed for 1 position in Seogwipo City, recording a competition rate of 79 to 1.
The General Administration Grade 9 category had the most applicants, with 1,659 applying for 49 positions, showing an average competition rate of 34 to 1.
Jeju Provincial Government headquarters received 520 applications for 16 positions (competition rate 33 to 1), Jeju City had 717 applications for 16 positions (competition rate 45 to 1), and Seogwipo City had 422 applications for 17 positions (competition rate 25 to 1).
For the separate recruitment aimed at expanding public service opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, including persons with disabilities and low-income individuals, 99 applicants applied for 15 positions (competition rate 6.6 to 1).
The average age of the applicants this time was 28.4 years.
The oldest applicant was 54 years old, and the youngest was 18 years old.
The distribution of applicants by age group was 2,331 (69.4%) aged 20 or younger, 835 (24.9%) in their 30s, 180 (5.4%) in their 40s, and 29 (0.9%) in their 50s.
The written exam will be held on June 5, and the exam venue announcement is planned to be posted on the Jeju Province website on the 17th of next month.

Applications for additional points on the written exam must meet the relevant requirements by June 4, the day before the exam, and the type and number of certificates must be entered in the local government internet application center.
