Korea Citibank Sponsors 'Climate Action Roundtable'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Korea Citibank announced on the 6th that it held the '6th Climate Action Roundtable' at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.
This roundtable was co-hosted by WWF-Korea (World Wide Fund for Nature Korea), CDP Korea Committee, and UNGC (United Nations Global Compact Korea), sponsored by Korea Citibank and the British Embassy in Korea, and participated in by various domestic companies and financial institutions.
Organized as part of the climate action partnership 'Change Now for Tomorrow,' which Korea Citibank has been conducting with WWF-Korea since 2018, this event aimed to provide practical guidance and share concrete action plans so that more domestic companies can participate in climate action.

The roundtable began with a keynote speech by Alok Sharma, Chair of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (UNFCCC COP26) to be held in the UK this November, on the necessity of carbon neutrality and the Race To Zero campaign (a campaign to close the gap between the Paris Agreement 1.5-degree target and current climate action efforts). It proceeded with discussions on specific renewable energy-related policies and regulations, corporate strategies in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) era, and practical implementation plans through domestic corporate cases.
