Gwangju Seo-gu Health Center, 'Health Promotion Campaign' to Commemorate World Health Day
Encouraging Community Participation Using Project-Specific Banners for National Cancer Screening, Smoking Cessation, and Maternal and Child Health Programs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Seo-gu Public Health Center of Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 5th that it conducted an 'Integrated Health Promotion Campaign' targeting local residents to commemorate World Health Day.
World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7th to commemorate the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO). South Korea has been holding World Health Day events since 1952.
This campaign was conducted on a small scale, excluding individual consultations and physical fitness measurements, to comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
The Seo-gu Public Health Center promoted its health promotion projects aimed at overcoming COVID-19 and maintaining a healthy life up to 123 years old.
Various health promotion projects such as national cancer screening, smoking cessation, Seo-gu Health Fitness Center, walking, and maternal and child health were promoted using project-specific banners and signs to encourage diverse publicity and resident participation.
In particular, the integrated approach to informing residents about various health promotion projects at once, rather than individually, attracted attention.
