Gwangju Fire Headquarters Ranks First Nationwide in On-Site Safety Index Evaluation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 5th that it ranked first among 19 fire headquarters in 17 cities and provinces nationwide in the '2020 On-site Safety Index Evaluation Results' announced by the National Fire Agency.
The On-site Safety Index is a system established and evaluated for the first time last year by the National Fire Agency, based on the 'Regulations on Safety Management of Firefighting Activities at the Scene for Fire Officers.' Its main purpose is to supplement deficiencies in on-site firefighting safety management tasks and to quantify safety levels and safety awareness objectively.
In this On-site Safety Index evaluation, which comprehensively analyzed and quantified evaluation criteria such as on-site personnel accidents, fire vehicle traffic accidents, and line-of-duty death rates, the city fire safety headquarters received a score of 91.8, significantly higher than the national average of 85.6, ranking first among 19 fire headquarters nationwide.
So far, the city fire headquarters has designated and operated three on-site safety inspectors per fire station to prevent safety accidents, conducted emergency vehicle traffic safety education, and implemented various preventive measures such as education on safety accident cases from other cities and provinces.
