Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, Establishment and Operation of Port and Marine Technical Advisory Committee
Composed of 169 Experts Across 21 Fields
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 2nd that it has selected experts from a total of 21 fields including ports and marine sectors as technical advisory committee members and formed and is operating the 1st Technical Advisory Committee to ensure the smooth implementation of port construction projects.
The Technical Advisory Committee is an organization that provides advice or deliberates on the appropriateness of design, construction, and the selection and utilization of new technologies in construction projects.
A total of 169 members participate as committee members, including 164 from academia, government officials, and companies, and 5 ex officio members from YGPA. The term of office is two years, until March 31, 2023.
They will perform roles such as technical advice, design consultation, technical review, bid document review, design review, eligibility review for design, and design evaluation.
The Authority plans to utilize the committee for transparent work processing and prompt project progress in line with the expansion of projects to revitalize Yeosu and Gwangyang ports, such as the Yulchon Convergence Logistics Complex Development Project and the construction of the 2nd Petrochemical Wharf.

President Cha Min-sik said, “We will actively operate the Technical Advisory Committee to secure future growth engines for Yeosu and Gwangyang ports through the creation of new cargo volumes and to promote regional economic revitalization through port development.”
