Gwangju University’s ‘Find Campus Landmarks’ International Student SNS Event Draws Attention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju University is attracting attention by conducting a unique SNS event for international students.
According to the International Cooperation Office of Gwangju University on the 2nd, international students wear hanbok and find famous spots hidden around the campus, then upload certification photos taken with spring blossom trees as the background along with their impressions on their own SNS to receive souvenirs.
When uploading to SNS, the tags #GwangjuUniversity, #CherryBlossomTree, and #gwangjuuniversity must be included, and hanbok can be rented for free from the International Cooperation Office.
This SNS event, held as part of the cultural experience program for international students, will run until the 9th.
Gwangju University prepared the "Find the Famous Spots on Campus" event to introduce the campus scenery to students who cannot come to school due to non-face-to-face classes and to utilize personal SNS, which allows proactive participation and mutual communication, as Korean cultural experience events involving international students were canceled due to the impact of COVID-19.
Jeon Jeong-hwan, head of the International Cooperation Office at Gwangju University, said, "I hope that international students wearing hanbok will have a meaningful time understanding Korean culture even a little and enjoying looking around various parts of the school."
