As of the end of last year, the number of customers who consented to receive smart mobile notifications reached 64% of the total customer base, an increase of 1.1 million compared to the previous year. This reduced the use of paper notifications sent to customers by 63 million sheets, which is equivalent to planting approximately 33,000 saplings.
KB Insurance plans to send mobile notifications via smart consent to 70% of all customers by the end of this year.
Additionally, KB Insurance launched a smartphone insurance subscription system in November last year, enabling customers to consult and sign insurance contracts in a one-stop manner anytime and anywhere, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This system was developed to minimize face-to-face interactions between customers and agents and to facilitate easy contract signing, especially as the non-face-to-face environment has been emphasized due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, since November last year, KB Insurance has introduced mobile policy documents to allow customers to easily and conveniently view policy details. Mobile policy documents were distributed for 40% of all new contracts from January to February this year, and the company plans to distribute mobile policy documents for more than 50% of new contracts by the end of this year. Through this, it is expected to reduce the production of 400,000 paper policy documents annually, saving approximately 80 million sheets of paper.
