Gyeongnam Province to Begin Pfizer Vaccinations for Seniors Aged 75 and Over Starting April 1
Vaccinations Begin on April 1 at Masan, Jinju, Tongyeong, Yangsan, and Busan National University Hospital
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 31st that it will begin Pfizer vaccine inoculations for residents aged 75 and older within the province starting April 1.
The vaccination targets include approximately 250,000 individuals who are residents or workers at elderly welfare facilities such as nursing homes for those aged 75 and older, senior communal living homes, day and night care centers, and short-term protection facilities within the province, who have consented to vaccination and are able to visit vaccination centers.
The vaccinations will be conducted at four vaccination centers in Changwon City Masan, Jinju, Tongyeong, and Yangsan City, aligned with the supply of 11,700 doses in the first week of April.
The province expects to vaccinate about 3,500 people at four locations within the province from April 1 through the weekend.
Additionally, to improve accessibility for the elderly to vaccination centers, vaccinations will also be administered on weekends.
If individual travel to vaccination centers is difficult, municipal and county quarantine authorities will provide courtesy buses or chartered buses.
Each eup, myeon, and dong community center will conduct wired and wireless monitoring at least once a day for three days to prepare for any adverse reactions following vaccination.
