Trump Opens Personal Website After SNS Ban
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Former U.S. President Donald Trump has launched an official website promoting his achievements during his term, CNN and others reported on the 30th (local time).
CNN reported that Trump, who was banned from social networking services (SNS) following the January 6 Capitol riot by his supporters, has returned online.
The homepage's main page features a message stating, "The Office of Donald J. Trump strives to preserve the great legacy of the Trump administration and advance the 'America First' agenda," along with photos of former President Trump boarding Air Force One, greeting North Korean State Chairman Kim Jong-un, and dancing with his wife, Melania.
The detailed page of the website states, "Former President Trump established energy security and border security, strengthened relations with NATO and allies, and saved countless lives by proactively imposing travel bans on China and Europe in response to COVID-19."
The launch of this website is interpreted as a move by former President Trump to expand his public activities. Although he lost the recent U.S. presidential election, he maintains significant political influence within the Republican Party. Some speculate about his potential candidacy in the 2024 presidential election.
Banned from platforms like Twitter and Facebook, former President Trump also plans to create his own SNS platform. Corey Lewandowski, a senior advisor to Trump, appeared on Newsmax TV Network's 'Saturday Agenda' on the 28th and said, "Former President Trump's 'America First' message will soon have a platform that can reach everyone."
Lewandowski said, "(The SNS that former President Trump will introduce) will be an opportunity to participate and communicate freely without fear of retaliation or deletion." He added that the SNS is expected to launch around June or July and will be created without content deletion or restriction measures.
Former President Trump appeared on Fox News contributor Liza Booth's podcast 'The Truth' and said, "You will soon be able to experience our platform."
