MOU to Foster Seoul's Future Growth Industries and Drive Innovative Growth of Promising Leading Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 31st that it has signed a business agreement with Seoul Metropolitan Government to foster Seoul's future growth industries and drive innovative growth of promising leading companies.
SBC and Seoul City agreed to actively utilize the policy infrastructure and networks possessed by both organizations to nurture Seoul's four major future growth industries and to collaborate on discovering promising leading companies operating in related fields and providing customized linked support.
Seoul's four major future growth industries were selected comprehensively considering government policy directions such as the Korean New Deal and Seoul's environment including the number of specialized personnel and companies by industry: ▲ Intelligent ICT (Fintech, AI, etc.) ▲ Digital cultural contents (webtoons, games, animation, web dramas, etc.) ▲ Bio and medical ▲ Fashion and smart textiles.
The two organizations plan to strengthen mutual cooperation in detail through ▲ policy fund support for fostering future growth industries ▲ discovery and recommendation of promising leading companies ▲ preparation of linked support policies for growth such as investment, manpower support, and infrastructure ▲ building cooperative networks and channel exchanges with related organizations and affiliated institutions.
SBC's advantage lies in its 42 years of experience supporting small and medium ventures and the accumulated data enabling efficient discovery of promising leading companies and linked support between projects. With this agreement, the combination of SBC's corporate support capabilities and Seoul City's industry-specific support infrastructure is expected to lead to the advancement of Seoul's future growth industries and revitalization of the regional economy.
