Yeongdeungpo-gu Spring Flower Traffic Safety Measures Activated... No-Stop at Exit 2 of Yeouinaru Station
April 3-4 and 10-11: No-stop passage for 21 routes at 9 bus stops between Sogang Bridge South End and 63 Building... Electric Kickboards (PM) and Ddareungi also restricted... Full suspension of dispatch in Yeouido, enforcement to be strengthened
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is implementing strengthened traffic and pedestrian route controls, including bus stop closures and no-stop weekend operations, as part of its spring flower social distancing safety measures.
The district announced that it has prepared and activated a proactive and comprehensive traffic safety plan to protect residents from the risk of COVID-19 spread by fundamentally blocking the congregation of spring visitors and street vendors.
? Bus and Subway Operation Controls
City and intercity buses and subways passing through Yeouinaru Station on Line 5 will be operated flexibly.
▲The bus stop (19140) in front of Exit 2 of Yeouinaru Station will be temporarily closed ▲A temporary bus stop will be set up and operated about 100 meters away from the original location, opposite the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Nam Seoul Regional Headquarters.
The temporary stop will operate ▲on weekdays April 1-2 and 5-9 ▲and will be closed on weekends April 3-4 and 10-11, during which all buses on the affected routes will pass without stopping.
The affected bus routes are 261, 753, 5534, 5615, 5618, 5633, 5713, 7611, 7613, Bucheon 10, and Yeongdeungpo 10 buses.
Additionally, on weekends, all buses (21 routes) passing through nine stops between the southern end of Seogang Bridge and the 63 Building will pass without stopping and operate on temporary detour routes.
Also, Line 5 Yeouinaru Station subway trains will operate no-stop flexibly based on station manager judgment depending on congestion levels.
? Electric Kickboard (PM) and Ddareungi Usage Controls
During the traffic control period, the use of personal mobility devices such as electric kickboards and PMs will be completely prohibited throughout Yeouido.
▲All PM dispatching activities are banned throughout Yeouido ▲The entire area is temporarily designated as a no-parking zone ▲Returned PMs will be immediately collected on-site.
Furthermore, from March 30 to April 13, six parking spaces at the 101 public roadside parking lot in front of Yeouido Park will be used as a temporary collection and transfer center for collected PMs, with an organic communication network established with PM companies to ensure prompt collection.
Use of Ddareungi bike-sharing service will also be restricted.
The docking stations of four Ddareungi rental locations in Yeouido will be temporarily closed, with banners posted around these stations to inform users of the closures.
The rental stations to be suspended are four locations: next to Yeouido Middle School (249), National Assembly Gate 6 (4585), in front of Yeouido Marina Dock (260), and National Assembly Gate 3 (297).
Additionally, illegal parking enforcement around Yeouinaru Station will be strengthened, and patrol personnel will be increased to maintain basic order.
To prevent street vendors from entering and operating, blocking fences will be installed on the pedestrian and vehicle roads between Yeouinaru Station and the southern end of Seogang Bridge, with control (patrol) officers conducting regular foot patrols to provide ongoing guidance.
