Average Competition Ratio for Gwangju City Public Service Worker Recruitment Exam is 27.9 to 1
Large Number of Young Job Seekers Apply, with 37.9% in Their 30s and 31.7% in Their 20s
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that the '2021 First Half Public Service Worker Recruitment Exam' received 530 applications for 19 positions, recording a high average competition rate of 27.9 to 1.
The field with the highest competition rate was 'Internet Promoter,' with 121 applicants for 1 position, marking the first time in Gwangju's public service worker recruitment history that the competition rate exceeded 100 to 1. The 'Publication Room Bookbinder' field also showed fierce competition with 94 applicants for 1 position.
Analyzing the application results for the public service worker recruitment exam: ▲Internet Promoter (1 position) 121 applicants ▲Publication Room Bookbinder (1 position) 94 applicants ▲CCTV Controller (1 position) 67 applicants ▲Heating and Cooling Technician (1 position) 21 applicants ▲Women’s Emergency Call 1366 Center On-site Counselor (1 position) 33 applicants ▲Animal Caretaker (1 position) 5 applicants ▲Soil Analysis Assistant (1 position) 22 applicants ▲Water Meter Reader (2 positions) 69 applicants ▲Facility Manager (2 positions) 35 applicants ▲Nursery Manager (1 position) 7 applicants ▲Building Cleaner (4 positions) 25 applicants ▲Cooking Manager (2 positions) 10 applicants ▲Environmental Cleaner (1 position) 21 applicants applied.
By age group, applicants in their 30s were the most at 201 (37.9%), followed by 20s at 168 (31.7%), 40s at 110 (20.8%), 50s at 49 (9.2%), and teens at 2 (0.4%).
The nearly 70% application rate from those in their 20s and 30s is interpreted as young job seekers recognizing Gwangju’s public service worker positions as quality jobs amid difficult employment conditions.
The 9.2% application rate from those in their 50s was somewhat high due to the age restriction of 50 and above for environmental cleaner positions (4 positions), which are prioritized for elderly employment.
The first-ever written exam for public service worker recruitment will be held on the 24th of next month, with the written exam results announced on May 13, interviews scheduled for June 8 (tentative), and final results announced on June 14 (tentative).
However, building cleaners, cooking managers, and environmental cleaners will be hired through interviews without a written exam.
