View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 30s who damaged election promotional materials while roaming around Seoul was caught by the police.
On the 30th, according to the police, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul has completed the investigation of Mr. A, in his 30s, who is suspected of violating the Public Official Election Act, and plans to send him to prosecution without detention soon.
Mr. A is accused of cutting five election poster fixing strings with scissors while roaming around Seongbuk-gu and Gangbuk-gu in Seoul at around 11:55 PM on the 26th. The police responded to a citizen's report and arrested him on the spot at 12:03 AM on the 27th.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A was not found to have damaged promotional materials of any specific party or candidate. He was also not intoxicated. Mr. A told the police that he committed the crime out of dissatisfaction with society due to personal issues such as work problems.
