Gwangju Buk-gu Increases First Supplementary Budget of the Year by 59.6 Billion Won for COVID-19 Response and More
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 28th that it has prepared a supplementary budget of 868.7 billion won, an increase of 59.6 billion won (7.37%) compared to the 2021 original budget.
This supplementary budget focuses on revitalizing the livelihood economy due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and promoting major current projects such as the Living SOC project.
The budget allocation includes ▲ 560 million won for support projects for small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and vulnerable groups ▲ 5.4 billion won for nine job projects including quarantine jobs ▲ 2.1 billion won for living support funds for low-income households ▲ 1.2 billion won for living support expenses for COVID-19 self-quarantined individuals ▲ 1.1 billion won for operating screening clinics and vaccination centers.
Additionally, a total of 10.2 billion won was allocated for projects to improve residents' welfare, including ▲ 6 billion won for the University Town-type Urban Regeneration New Deal project ▲ 1.1 billion won for the Imdong Urban Regeneration New Deal project ▲ 1 billion won for the construction of the Bandabi Complex Sports Center.
Furthermore, 2.3 billion won was included for seven projects such as the Buk-gu Comprehensive Sports Complex disaster recovery, which was additionally granted from last year's confirmed flood recovery amount, and 3.1 billion won for the construction of rural village sewage systems in the Geon-guk district.
District Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “As the economic recession caused by COVID-19 continues, we will focus our administrative and financial capabilities on rapid execution to help stabilize people's livelihoods.”
