After the vaccination, Minister Kwon told attending reporters, "It was no different from the vaccinations I have experienced several times before."
He added, "The vaccines currently being administered domestically have proven effectiveness and safety," emphasizing, "Many countries worldwide are administering these vaccines, so I urge the public to participate in the vaccination with confidence."
On the same day in the afternoon, Minister Kwon, along with Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and Minister of the Interior and Safety Jeon Hae-cheol, received the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Jongno-gu Public Health Center in Seoul. All of them are leading COVID-19 prevention efforts. Prime Minister Chung serves as the head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, Minister Kwon is the first deputy head, and Minister Jeon is the second deputy head.
The health authorities explained that this vaccination was conducted to enhance the safety and reliability of the COVID-19 vaccine.
