Dreamtech Partners with US MixComm to Develop 5G Millimeter-Wave System
System Co-Development Collaboration... Expansion of Global Network Infrastructure Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Dreamtech announced on the 25th that it has signed a partnership with the US company Mixcomm to develop 5G millimeter wave (mmWave) systems.
Through this partnership, Dreamtech and Mixcomm plan to collaborate on the development and mass production supply of 5G network infrastructure equipment such as RF modules, antenna modules, repeaters, and 5G wireless CPE (Customer-Premises Equipment) ? key components of 5G. Mixcomm will provide mmWave antenna algorithm technology and expertise, while Dreamtech will be responsible for system design, verification, mass production, and supply.
Mixcomm is a telecommunications component manufacturer primarily producing 5G radio frequency (RF) chipsets and antenna-in-package (AiP) solutions for the 28 GHz band. Mixcomm, which holds the flagship product 'SUMMIT2629,' possesses high-performance and low-power technologies compared to competitor RF chipsets. Dreamtech explained that when RF modules for 5G network equipment are configured with this chipset, the same performance can be achieved with half the number of chipsets compared to competitor products.
Kang Wonjun, head of Dreamtech's Digital Solutions Team, said, "Since 2019, Dreamtech has proactively invested in research and development and facilities to enter the 5G market. Through this partnership with Mixcomm, we will take the lead in implementing 5G mmWave networks based on complementary expertise and capabilities."

Meanwhile, the 5G network equipment market is expected to continue growing steadily, driven by global 5G infrastructure construction and coverage expansion. Market research firm IBISWorld forecasted that the global 5G equipment market will grow more than fourfold within the next two years from $37.8 billion (approximately 43 trillion KRW) last year.
