At a departure ceremony held in Guro-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the same day, Park said, "I would like to propose to the government authorities that among the third-quarter vaccination targets, high school seniors be vaccinated first during the summer vacation period."
He added, "Parents with high school seniors are very worried because of COVID-19. I understand the concern of mothers with children who worry that something might go wrong just before the exam," emphasizing, "We must minimize the learning damage to our examinees as much as possible."
Park explained, "The AstraZeneca vaccine is approved for use in those aged 18 and over, so vaccination eligibility may vary depending on the birthday of high school seniors, which could cause confusion.
