Hollywood Comic Actor George Segal Passes Away at 87 Years Old
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] George Segal, a representative comic actor in Hollywood, has passed away at the age of 87.
Segal's spouse, Sonia Segal, released a statement on the 23rd (local time) saying, "Segal died this morning due to complications from bypass surgery."
Born in New York, he began his acting career in the early 1960s by filming several movies in New York.
His representative work is the 1966 film Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? CNN explained, "Segal was nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this work."

Adam Goldberg, producer of the American ABC sitcom The Goldbergs in which Segal appeared, tweeted on the day, "Segal was like a child with an amazing flame in his heart," and mourned, "We will miss his warmth, humor, camaraderie, and friendship."
