Huh Chang-soo, Former Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries, Urges Strengthened Cooperation Between WTO and Business Community in Letter
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) announced on the 24th that Chairman Huh Chang-soo, along with heads of economic organizations from 14 countries including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Japan's Keidanren, the Australian Chamber of Commerce, and the Swedish Federation of Enterprises, sent a "Letter Urging Strengthened Cooperation between the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Business Community" to the newly appointed WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
In the letter, the global economic organizations expressed support for the WTO system and requested enhanced cooperation with the business community for WTO modernization. They also proposed establishing structured communication channels such as a WTO business advisory body.

The FKI represents the Korean private sector and participates in various international multilateral cooperation channels, including the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Global Business Coalition (GBC), and the Asian Business Summit (ABS).
