'Textile Industry Innovation'.. Gyeonggi-do Promotes 'Three Specialized Textile Products' Project
Three Areas Including Innovation Product Development Through Industry Convergence and Technology Integration
[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Gyeonggi Province is launching support in three areas to innovate and strengthen the capabilities of the textile industry: 'Enhancing Manufacturing Capabilities for Cross-Industry Convergence Products,' 'Innovative Growth of Core Talent in Gyeonggi Textile,' and 'Development and Commercialization of Knit Uniforms.'
According to the province on the 24th, 'Enhancing Manufacturing Capabilities for Cross-Industry Convergence Products' will be promoted by providing up to 5 million KRW to participating companies when creating new prototypes through collaboration between companies from different industries.
Last year, 41 companies participated, a 50% increase compared to the previous year, producing over 20 types of convergence prototypes. Among these, products such as textile-medical devices, functional office chairs, Dak textile knitwear, upcycled leather accessories, small trays using printed textile fabrics, and digitally surface-processed furniture are currently in mass production.
'Innovative Growth Support for Core Talent in Gyeonggi Textile' plans to hold exchange meetings, management innovation strategy seminars, and online/offline training to provide opportunities for collaboration between companies and benchmarking of best practices, targeting successors and key practitioners in the textile industry.
The newly introduced project this year, 'Support for Development and Commercialization of Knit Material Uniforms,' aims to support the development of uniforms using excellent knit fabrics produced in Gyeonggi Province.
The core idea is to match knit manufacturers with companies and institutions in need of uniforms to develop and apply workwear, uniforms, school uniforms, and safety protective clothing made from materials that offer better convenience, mobility, and comfort than traditional woven fabrics.
