Shinhan Bank CEO Jin Ok-dong Rolls Up Sleeves to Support Abused Children... Launches Donghaeng Project
Support for 76 Child Shelters with Vehicle and Fuel Expenses to Aid Abused Children
Implemented in Honor of Jin Ok-dong, Bank Manager Who Has Continued Interest and Support for Children
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Jin Ok-dong, CEO of Shinhan Bank, known for her special interest in children, has rolled up her sleeves to support abused children.
On the 24th, Shinhan Bank announced the launch of the "Companion Project" to provide continuous attention and long-term support for abused children.
This project supports vehicles and fuel expenses for the transportation of children at 76 abused children’s shelters nationwide. Named the "Companion Project" to reflect sincerity in providing practical and steady support rather than one-time aid for abused children, it will be carried out over the next three years on a long-term basis.
Through a preliminary survey of abused children’s shelters nationwide, Shinhan Bank identified that support for vehicles and fuel expenses for medical institution visits for treating aftereffects of abuse and for school commuting was most urgently needed. Accordingly, vehicle support will be provided to 26 shelters, and fuel expenses to 76 shelters.
This project was planned with CEO Jin’s strong social contribution will, given her high interest in children. CEO Jin stated, “I want to support children’s education through donations so that the difficult economic environment does not limit their dreams,” and it is known that she has personally donated over 100 million won since her inauguration in 2019.
