Dongjak-gu Recruits 46 'Dongjak Turtle Couriers' for Subway Delivery Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is recruiting 46 new delivery workers for the subway courier service "Dongjak Geobuki" as part of a new senior job and social activity support project aimed at providing income opportunities and social engagement for the elderly until the 26th.
"Dongjak Geobuki" is a project name meaning slow but diligent delivery of goods. It utilizes the excellent location advantages of Dongjak-gu (Lines 1, 4, 7, and 9) and seniors who can ride the subway for free, providing a courier service that delivers items from the pickup point or business site to the customer's desired location.
The recruitment scale is a total of 46 people: ▲4 general affairs ▲2 publicity ▲40 delivery workers.
Applicants must be Dongjak-gu residents aged 60 or older and must not fall under exclusion criteria (such as recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act or those currently participating in public job projects).
Seniors with excellent outdoor walking ability and those capable of using smartphone map searches and apps will be given preference during selection.
Seniors wishing to apply should bring the participation application form, resident registration certificate, health insurance qualification certificate, and other required documents, and submit them in person or by mail to the Dongjak-gu Senior Job Center (168 Jangseungbaegi-ro, Dream Tower 7th floor) by the 26th.
Final successful candidates will be announced on Wednesday, March 31, after document and interview screening. The working period is nine months, from April 5 to December 31.
Additionally, selected candidates must undergo a COVID-19 test before starting work.
Activity hours and compensation vary by job category: ▲General affairs ? 3 hours every other day, 300,000 KRW per month ▲Publicity ? 3 hours twice a week, 240,000 KRW per month ▲Delivery ? 4 hours 6 days per month, 240,000 KRW per month. Additional work is possible upon request, and delivery allowances will be paid based on individual performance.

Meanwhile, last year, 3,067 seniors participated in 48 senior job projects, and this year, 2,686 seniors are participating in projects such as side road environment maintenance and daycare helper support.
