"Severely Abused Shiba Inu Corpse Found, Appears to Have Been Dropped from a High Place"
Police: "Suspect Not Yet Identified... Possibility of Abuse Based on Circumstances"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] The police have launched an investigation after receiving a report that the carcass of a Shiba Inu, believed to have died from abuse, was found.
According to the Namdong Police Station in Incheon on the 23rd, the carcass of a Shiba Inu estimated to be 6 to 7 months old was discovered around 11 p.m. on the 20th in the basement level 3 of an officetel in Namdong-gu, Incheon.
The management office received complaints from residents who witnessed the scene and reported it to 112, then handed over the dog's carcass to the police.
A resident who first saw the scene said, "The young puppy was dead without even closing its eyes," adding, "Its mouth was filled with blood. Its body was limp as if someone had dropped it from a high place."
The building where the accident occurred has a spiral staircase with an open center from the ground floor to the basement.
However, each entrance door is equipped with security devices, making it difficult for the puppy to enter or exit on its own, and there are railings on the stairs, so the possibility of slipping seems low.
The police plan to investigate the circumstances of the incident based on the building's closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and witness statements.
