[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 23rd that it will carry out a support project for the installation of standing tables to facilitate the use of restaurants by foreigners, the elderly, and the disabled who feel uncomfortable with floor-seating culture.
This project aims to improve the dining environment by replacing floor-seating tables with standing tables, supporting 50% of the replacement cost, up to a maximum of 1 million KRW per business.
Any general restaurant in the district that has been in operation for more than six months after business registration can apply.
Gwangsan-gu plans to select support targets by conducting on-site inspections considering the size of the business, installation location, and the owner's willingness.
Business operators wishing to improve their facilities must fill out the application form and business plan on the Gwangsan-gu website under ‘Notices and Announcements’ and submit them to the Gwangsan-gu Food Hygiene Division by the 9th of next month.
