Ministry of Education: "Jo Min's Admission Can Be Canceled According to School Regulations Separately from the Trial"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Ministry of Education has concluded that "universities can investigate the facts related to admission suspicions within the school and take a series of measures separately from criminal trials" regarding the cancellation of admission of Cho Min, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, to the Pusan National University Graduate School of Medicine.
On the 23rd, Kwak Sang-do, a member of the National Assembly's Education Committee from the People Power Party, received and disclosed the legal review results related to the cancellation of Cho's admission from the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry of Education stated that it made this judgment after a legal and comprehensive review of Pusan National University's announcement in January, which said, "We will proceed with the disposition after the final verdict based on the presumption of innocence."

However, the Ministry of Education explained that the Higher Education Act, which mandates the cancellation of admission for those who submit false documents or commit fraudulent acts, was enacted last year and cannot be applied retroactively to Cho, who enrolled in 2015, stating, "Cancellation is possible according to Pusan National University's regulations and admission guidelines."
