Gyeongnam Province Supports Substitute Drivers' Insurance Premiums for 6 Months
50% of Insurance Premiums Covered for One Person One Insurance, Benefits Expected for Over 2,000 People
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 23rd that it will promote the 'Substitute Driver Compensation Insurance Premium Support Project' to alleviate the insurance premium burden on substitute drivers.
Substitute drivers have experienced a decrease in income due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), but they are burdened with insurance premiums due to overlapping subscriptions to compensation insurance.
Accordingly, Gyeongnam Province will support workers engaged in the substitute driving industry within the province by covering 50% of one insurance premium per person, up to 50,000 KRW per month, for a maximum of six months.
An official from the province stated, "We will strive to provide practical assistance to stabilize the livelihoods of substitute drivers affected by COVID-19."
Applicants can apply by email, mail, or fax to the Gyeongsangnam-do Economic Promotion Agency from April 1 to 20.
