President Moon and 10 Others Receive AZ Vaccine at Jongno Health Center (Update)
Mandatory Vaccination Procedures for Essential Travel to Attend June G7 Meeting... Vaccination Campaign Fully Begins for Seniors Aged 65 and Over
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the morning of the 23rd, 11 Blue House officials, including President Moon Jae-in and the First Lady, received the AstraZeneca (AZ) COVID-19 vaccination at Jongno Public Health Center in Seoul. This vaccination is part of the 'vaccination procedure for essential travel' for participants attending the Group of Seven (G7) summit to be held in the UK in June.
President Moon and the First Lady visited the Jongno Public Health Center in Seoul's Jongno-gu at 9 a.m. that day to receive the COVID-19 vaccination with the AZ vaccine. A total of 11 people, including Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, who is scheduled to visit the UK with the President, participated in this vaccination.
Earlier, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency designated the Jongno Public Health Center as the vaccination institution for the G7 departure delegation.
The Blue House explained, "The President and the First Lady wished to receive the vaccination together with other delegation members rather than at the President's dedicated hospital (Armed Forces Seoul District Hospital), so nine staff members from the Presidential Secretariat accompanied them to receive the vaccination at the Jongno Public Health Center." The reason all 11 were vaccinated together is that the Jongno Public Health Center, the vaccination institution, confirmed that 11 doses per vial are available.
Meanwhile, starting with the AZ vaccination of President Moon and the First Lady, the vaccination of the elderly aged 65 and over with the AZ vaccine will be actively implemented in South Korea.
