[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is publicly recruiting participants to join the '2021 Gender Equality Culture Promotion Project' until the 23rd to spread a culture of gender equality in daily life.
In accordance with the Gender Equality Act, the district has been gathering wisdom from both the public and private sectors to establish gender equality and expand women's rights in all areas of politics, economy, society, and culture.
This recruitment is conducted in three areas: ▲ Raising awareness and spreading culture of gender equality ▲ Creating a women-friendly city ▲ Expanding women's social participation.
In the area of raising awareness and spreading culture of gender equality, various projects that can promote gender-equal culture in daily life are being sought. This includes programs to enhance gender equality awareness targeting youth and gender equality activities for families.
The women-friendly city creation area is open to programs supporting work-family balance. Applications can be made through projects such as creating a family-friendly environment, enhancing community safety for socially vulnerable groups, village-level care projects, and preventing social isolation of women in the COVID-19 era.
In the area of expanding women's social participation, applications can be made for women's capacity-building programs. Specific projects awaited include discovering women's jobs, supporting employment and entrepreneurship, supporting young women's employment, and maintaining female workers' careers.
The total project budget is 30 million KRW, and corporations or organizations can apply for only one project. Depending on the scale, nature, and content of the project, support of up to 10 million KRW per project can be received.
Eligibility requires being a nonprofit corporation or nonprofit private organization located in Songpa-gu, established mainly for spreading gender equality culture, expanding social participation in gender equality, protecting women's human rights and promoting their rights, or spreading family culture as stipulated in the Gender Equality Act and the Songpa-gu Gender Equality Basic Ordinance of Seoul.
This project is operated through the ‘Songpa-gu Gender Equality Fund’ to promote gender equality culture within the local community. Detailed information can be found on the district office website’s public notices or through the district office’s Women and Childcare Division.
