Ahn Jong-sook, Seocho District Council Member, Awarded '2020 Best Local Council Grand Prize'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seocho District Council member An Jong-suk (Yangjae 1, 2-dong, Naegok-dong) received the '2020 Local Council Legislative Activity Excellence Award' hosted by the Korea Voters Federation (President Seo Jeong-tae) on the 19th.
As the first female chairperson from the Democratic Party of Korea since the opening of the 8th Seocho District Council, Council member An Jong-suk is recognized for demonstrating proactive yet inclusive leadership and successfully leading the council.
Additionally, she operated the 'Visiting On-site Consultation Office, Seocho District Council (go, 鼓)' to directly listen to and resolve the difficulties and concerns of residents, receiving great responses from the community.
She also set an example in the local community by conducting various volunteer activities to practice neighborly love using the savings from reducing the executive committee's business expenses.
Council member An said, “As a three-term council member and the chairperson of the 8th council's first half, I believe my efforts to run a just council that empowers residents and my communication with them have been positively evaluated. I take this as a sign to work even harder in legislative activities and will continue to do my best for the residents of Seocho and the development of Seocho District.”

The 13th annual awards ceremony honors members of the National Assembly and local government heads who have demonstrated outstanding legislative and national audit activities throughout the year. Candidates are selected through recommendations from civic groups and evaluated by a legislative assessment panel composed of experts in various fields.
